Inspired by the growing movement of walk clubs nationwide, like the ever-popular City Girls Who Walk, Des Moines Girls Who Walk (DSMGWW) was founded in 2023 by Theresa Macdonald. What started as a simple desire to get outside more and meet new people quickly grew into something more: a welcoming, judgment-free space where women of all ages can connect, move their bodies, and build genuine friendships.

At its core, DSMGWW is about more than just walking. It’s about slowing down, showing up, and finding joy in community. Whether you're new to town, looking to expand your social circle, or just want to enjoy fresh air with friendly faces, our walks are open to all.
